We’re here to combat your film indecisiveness by creating a watch-list for the month of September, from binge worthy drama series to tear jerking love stories on the big screen, we have you covered.
Crazy Rich Asians

Crazy Rich Asians is a spectacle to say the least. The film is visually stunning and promises a captivating story-line about love, wealth, culture and destiny. Set on the luscious island country of Singapore, the film illustrates what happens when upper-class family values mix with star-crossed love. With a sequel already confirmed, it is undoubtedly a box office hit. Also, gawking at Constance Wu and Henry Golding is worth the ticket on its own.
Whitney

A recently released documentary explores the true and tempestuous story behind the celebrated artist and legend Whitney Houston. Her life was a chaotic concoction of major highs and tragic lows, which are illustrated in depth throughout the film. Filmmaker Kevin Macdonald combines archival footage and exclusive interviews with people who knew her best. Getting a glimpse into the life of the industries greatest icons is a rarity, so this film is a true treasure.
On Chesil Beach

Having previously worked together on the film adaption of Atonement (2008), beloved Saoirse Ronan and screenwriter-novelist Ian McEwan have collaborated on another period piece about marriage and societal pressure. Saoirse Ronan plays Florence, recently married to Billy Howle’s character Edward. Set in the 1960's, the film follows the couple spending their honeymoon frustratingly navigating the trials of married life and the consummation of their marriage. Saoirse knocks period-pieces out of the park every time and the scenic setting of the film makes for a fantastic experience.
The House of Flowers

Change up your Netflix watch-list with this newly released Mexican dark-comedy series. The House of Flowers depicts a dysfunctional family navigating the revelations of their fathers' secret life, all the while trying to maintain a facade of perfection. The production for the series is amazing, with a filming style similar to that of Ryan Murphy's Scream Queens. We are hooked already!
A Simple Favor

Behind the facade of an immaculately kitsch and glamorous life lies the reality that Emily (Blake Lively) has a secret life that is far darker, revealed when she goes missing. A Simple Favor is in cinemas on September 12th and boasts two stellar female leads, Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, this drama/thriller is high on the watch-list. In a recent interview; Blake Lively stated that Anna Kendrick is the male Ryan Reynolds, so the chemistry between the two main characters in the film is bound to be one of the best elements.
